The owner of this 2014 Mercedes-Benz C300 Sport contacted Audio Garage in Fargo about adding a backup camera, upgrading the subwoofer, tinting the windows and a installing remote car starter. Several options are available for these upgrades; we worked with the client to choose solutions that delivered the best performance and features for his money.
Mercedes-Benz Backup Camera Integration
Backup safety is enhanced with the new camera system.
The project started with the installation of a Crimestopper CAM-400 HD backup camera just above the license plate and a Mid City Engineering interface that uses the LCD screen in the dash of the vehicle. As soon as the client shifts into reverse, the camera image appears on the screen instantly, with dynamic parking lines that follow the angle of the steering wheel to show the path of the vehicle.
Drop-In Powered Subwoofer Upgrade
The addition of the Bass Pro Hub gives this C300 much more bass.
Next, we installed a JBL BassPro Hub subwoofer in the trunk of this C300 to give the stereo some thump. The BassPro Hub is a circular subwoofer enclosure that fits inside the spare tire of most vehicles and includes an 11-inch sub and 200-watt amplifier to deliver amazing sound. The Hub doesn’t take up any storage space and delivers a perfectly balanced amount of bass to blend with the Harman Kardon sound system.
European Vehicle Remote Car Starter
The client can now have additional climate-controlled comfort.
The client wanted us to add a remote car starter so he could warm up the vehicle on cold winter mornings and cool it off in the summer. We used a Viper 4706V remote car starter that features a two-way remote control with an LCD screen. The display lets the client know that the vehicle has received whatever command he sent and that it has been executed.
Heat-Rejecting Window Tint
The tint not only adds safety, but enhances vehicle cosmetics.
The last step in upgrading this client’s Mercedes was to install SunTek ceramic window film on the side and rear windows. SunTek ceramic tint blocks 99 percent of the UV rays from the sun to protect your skin and the vehicle’s interior and rejects almost 60 percent of the sun’s heat energy. The result is a vehicle that remains cool and comfortable on even the hottest summer days while offering excellent privacy and a great appearance. Best of all, the ceramic design doesn’t interfere with radio, cellphone or GPS reception.
