A client from Wahpeton came to us after reading our excellent online reviews to put a new Bluetooth-equipped radio in his 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. While we were discussing the features he wanted in his new radio, we also discovered that a new backup camera would benefit him when maneuvering the truck. He often plows snow during the winter months, and a camera that is housed in the tailgate handle became a must for him after we suggested it.
We installed a Kenwood Excelon DDX-8905S that features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, so we installed two flush-mounted USBs under his radio so he could plug his phone in to access his apps from the radio touchscreen. We used a Crimestopper backup camera so he can view the image on the radio in his dash every time he puts the truck in reverse. The tall vantage point of the tailgate handle camera allows him to see any obstacles and gauge his distance easily.
On top of that, we used an iDatalink Maestro module to integrate with his vehicle to show vehicle diagnostics and performance data.
