Harley-Davidson Street Glide Demo Bike Featuring Audio & Lighting

Audio Garage in Fargo recently acquired this 2019 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special to serve as a demonstration of our audio system and lighting upgrade capabilities. This awesome cruiser boasts a matte Industrial Grey Denim paint job and blacked-out accessories that accent the lighting and speaker upgrades we performed on the bike. Let’s look at the changes we’ve made to this amazing motorcycle.

Custom Harley-Davidson Headlight Upgrade

The stock headlight does a fair job of lighting up the road but can’t hold a candle to the upgrades we performed. We built a new headlight using XK Glow and parts in an MLED housing. The high-output projector-style lens ensures long-range performance and a crisp cut-off that won’t blind oncoming drivers. For a unique look, we added a Morimoto RGB LED halo ring around the light that is controlled by an XK Glow controller. We can set the accent lighting to any of thousands of colors to customize the look.

Harley-Davidson Boom! Box GTS Audio System Enhancement

The stock Boom! Box GTS radio includes built-in navigation and Apple CarPlay connectivity to make getting to your destination efficient and safe. With that said, the speakers and tiny amplifier on the bike simply can’t match the performance expectations of a vehicle powered by the Milwaukee-Eight 114. We started the upgrade process by reflashing the radio using our programmer to eliminate most of the strange tuning Harley adds. From there, we extracted an audio signal from the radio and fed it to a Rockford Fosgate Maestro DSR1 signal processor. The DSR1 allows us to fine-tune the output of each speaker on the bike for amazing audio performance at any speed.

We upgraded the fairing speakers with a set of Element-Ready Rockford TMS65 6.5-inch coaxial speakers. The new speakers drop right into the factory mounting locations. To round out the sound on the bike and further enhance the bass performance of the system, we installed the Rockford TMS69BL14 bag lid speaker system on the saddlebags. This speaker kit includes a set of large 6×9 speakers and application-specific grilles that can be integrated into the stock lids in only a few hours.

We added a layer of SunTek Matte Paint Protection Film to the bag lids to protect them from scuffs and scratches as the client climbs on and off the bike. The paint film matches the matte finish of the rest of the bike perfectly.
